JERSEY BULLS ENTER TEAM IN FA YOUTH CUP

Jersey Bulls have been granted historic permission by the FA to take part in the acclaimed FA Youth Cup for season 2022/23.

Having approached the English FA in March 2022 and following discussions with the JFA and all local clubs in Jersey, the Bulls will work to raise in the region of £30,000 to fund the venture. The JFA Center of Excellence have offered to run and manage the team – which will include players up to Year 13. This is the first time an offshoreteam has been given the go ahead to take part in the competition.

If the necessary funding is not raised in the coming weeks, then entry to the FA Youth Cup will not be viable. There will be up to six games for the team should they be successful in the competition.

Having successfully set up and fielded an Under 23s team last season who reached the final of the Suburban Cup, Jersey Bulls are keen to extend the player development pathway further with this Under 18 structure.

"“All Jersey League Under 18 Club managers have been contacted and the positive support for entrance into the FA Youth Cup reflects the good relationships we have with the local clubs.”"

Chairman Russell Le Feuvre

"“We are keen to continue to raise the quality of football and football opposition for players on the island. By taking part in the FA Youth Cup our young players will get significant exposure to a high standard of football on the mainland. It’s a very exciting prospect.”"
