Elliot brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to the club, setting the stage for an exciting new chapter in the team’s history. A further announcement will be made shortly regarding the backroom team.

Elliot is highly qualified with a BA Hons in Sports Coaching (1st), UEFA C Coaching License, and a Professional Football Scout Association Level 2 certification in Talent Identification and Development. His academic and professional credentials are completed by a strong background of practical achievements in football management and coaching.

Returning to the island from university in 2019, Elliot immediately took up the managerial position at Jersey Championship side St John’s, transforming a team that had finished bottom in the previous season. Despite a season cut short by the pandemic, he led St John’s to an impressive 2nd place finish, setting the up for future success.

In 2020, Elliot embarked on a long-term project with Jersey Premiership side St Peter’s. Over four seasons, he elevated the team from mid-table mediocrity to champions, capturing every amiable trophy in Channel Island football, including an unbeaten run to the Premiership title in the 2022-23 season.

Elliot’s achievements didn’t go unnoticed, leading to his appointment as the Men’s Representative Assistant Manager for the Jersey FA in February 2023. Under the management team’s guidance, Jersey successfully defended the Muratti Vase and subsequently when leading the team Elliot achieved a historic gold medal at the Island Games, marking the first win since 2009. Following these triumphs, he was appointed as the permanent Manager for the Jersey FA Men’s team, continuing his winning streak by overseeing a dramatic 3-2 victory over Guernsey in the latest Muratti Vase contest. Elliot will remain in post as the Jersey FA Men’s Team’s manager.

Elliot’s impressive results reflect his strategic acumen and ability to inspire teams to achieve their best.

Of his appointment Powell says:I am honoured to join Jersey Bulls Football Club, something I have been ambitious about doing for some time, and I am excited for the opportunities we can create. The club has a strong foundation and a passionate fan base in Jersey and the UK. I am committed to bringing success to the Bulls and building on the club’s proud traditions and culture.”

Jersey Bulls Chairman Russel Le Feuvre added: “We are delighted to be able to appoint someone of Elliot’s calibre following an open application process and we thank all those who showed interest in the club and the role.

We owe so much to our exiting Manager Gary Freeman and his management team for their unwavering dedication and achievements in their tenure, ending in our most successful season to date.

As a club we are committed to creating meaningful pathways for Jersey players, coaches and referees. Next season will no doubt be another testing time and it’s great to see the footballing, and wider community embracing and supporting the island as it competes in the English National League system.”

Ian Horswell, CEO, commented: “We are thrilled to have Elliot and his team join the club. It’s a large and experience back-room team which can really help the club continue its year-on-year successes to date. There has been a lot of managerial changes in our league, and we would like to think we will have one of the smoother transitions as Elliot has worked with much of the squad before.

We have an exciting schedule of pre-season matches and look forward to welcoming supporters to Springfield again, very soon for what should be the start of another exciting spectacle for the island of Jersey.”

Jersey Bulls FC is dedicated to fostering local talent and achieving excellence in football. With the appointment of Elliot Powell, the club is poised for a new era of further growth and success.
